The driver of a 1990 Dodge Caravan died Monday after another driver veered into the northbound lane of Deale Churchton Road in Deale, hitting his vehicle head-on, Anne Arundel County police said. The 54-year-old man is not being identified because his relatives have not yet been notified of his death, police said.

The collision happened about 4:30 p.m. when Dorothy Ann Murphy Meletzke, 62, of Parkers Creek Road in Deale drifted out of the southbound lane and overcorrected, sending her 2002 Toyota Tundra into the northbound lane near Kingfisher Road, police said. Meletzke suffered minor injuries. Charges were not filed against her. A police investigation continues.

The driver of the Caravan was trapped in the vehicle, and died shortly after emergency workers freed him, police said.
