Today

No. 14 Severn (4-1) at Cardinal Gibbons (1-5)

Time: 3:45 p.m.

Outlook: After cracking The Sun's Top 15 for the first time this season with a 39-0 drubbing of Howard, the visiting Admirals aren't about to falter in Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association B Conference Gold Division play, where they are 1-0. Darnell Jones and company want a conference title.

Northeast (2-4) at No. 4 Annapolis (6-0)

Time: 4 p.m.

Outlook: The visiting Eagles have been giving up a lot of points (losing last week to Old Mill, 45-25) and face the potent Panthers' wing T with all its speed and power.

Severna Park (5-1) at Southern-AA (4-2)

Time: 4 p.m.

Outlook: These teams match up fairly well in speed, quickness and athleticism, but the Class 2A Bulldogs have an edge in size over the 4A Falcons and a superb quarterback, Justin Holland. It's a key game for both in terms of postseason possibilities.

Glen Burnie (1-5) at No. 5 Broadneck (5-1)

Time: 4 p.m.

Outlook: Two teams going in opposite directions meet in Cape St. Claire with the host Bruins having a decisive edge on defense, yielding just 9.3 points a game. The Gophers are yielding 27.3.

Old Mill (4-2) at Chesapeake (3-3)

Time: 4 p.m.

Outlook: The host Cougars have lost three games by a total of 16 points and, try as they may, just can't get over the hump. Unfortunately for them, Old Mill is back on track with its offense meshing behind quarterback Tyler Young's passing and Brashaad Mayweather's running.

Arundel (3-3) at North County (0-6)

Time: 4 p.m.

Outlook: After playing its best game of the season on Monday with Luis Gonzalez running for 252 yards in a 14-13 win over Chesapeake, the Wildcats visit the Knights, who have been outscored 260-27.

South River (1-5) at Meade (2-4)

Time: 4 p.m.

Outlook: Meade played well Monday before bowing, 25-14, to Severna Park. Being home, the Mustangs should get back in the win column against the struggling Seahawks.

John Carroll (0-5) at Archbishop Spalding (2-5)

Time: 4 p.m.

Outlook: After being humbled, 26-0, by Boys' Latin in MIAA B Conference Silver Division action despite an outstanding game by linebacker Josh Johnson, the Cavs have a good shot at going to 2-1 in league play.

Tomorrow

St. Mary's (4-2) at McDonogh (1-4)

Time: 2 p.m.

Outlook: This isn't a good time for MIAA B Conference St. Mary's to be getting the A Conference Eagles. McDonogh is coming off a 14-7 upset of previously highly-ranked Mount St. Joseph (3-4), which lost to No. 1 Gilman, 48-45.
