Lillian Amos, 79, homemaker

Lillian Amos, a Baltimore homemaker, died Tuesday of complications following surgery at Good Samaritan Hospital. She was 79 and lived in Forest Park.

Born Lillian Aislee Haney in Greensboro, N.C., where she attended parochial schools, she moved to Northwest Baltimore when she was 20 years old.

She married Luther Perry Amos, a construction worker and Baptist minister, in 1940. He died in 1992.

Mrs. Amos enjoyed making crab cakes for family gatherings.

She is survived by two sons, Luther P. Amos Jr. and Harold Amos, and five daughters, Mary Elizabeth Amos, Naomi Amos, Esther Beauford, Angela Burt and Cecelia Blanks, all of Baltimore; 30 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. today at the March East Funeral Home, 1101 E. North Ave.
