Beatrice Lee, 82, beautician, teacher's aide

Beatrice Lee, a retired beautician and teacher's aide, died of heart failure Sunday at Bon Secours Hospital. The longtime West Baltimore resident was 82.

She was born and raised Beatrice Turner in Anne Arundel County, where she attended public schools. In 1936, she moved to Baltimore and married Wardie Lee Sr., a longshoreman, in the early 1940s. He died in 1983.

Mrs. Lee operated Bee's Beauty Salon on West Saratoga Street for more than 20 years, until its closing in 1968. She continued seeing customers in her West Baltimore home, and worked as an aide in city public schools until retiring in 1974.

Mrs. Lee was a parishioner of John Wesley United Methodist Church, 3202 W. North Ave., where services will be held at 11 a.m. today.

She is survived by two daughters, Glenda J. Sydnor and Marlene S. Canada, both of Baltimore; two stepsons, Wardie Lee Jr. of Cleveland, Ohio, and Timothy Carter of Randallstown; and four grandchildren.
