Equestrian council:

Carroll County Equestrian Council will meet at 7:30 p.m. in Room 003-004 at the County Office Building, 225 N. Center St., Westminster. 410-386-2103.

Aero modelers meet:

Westminster Aero Modelers Club will meet at 7:30 p.m. at Westminster Veterans of Foreign Wars Hall, 519 Poole Road. 410-848-8518.

Wednesday

Senior club:

Liberty Lake Golden Age Club will meet at 11:45 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Community Church, 915 Liberty Road, Eldersburg. Participants should take lunch. Beverages will be provided. 410-795-7644.

Nature club:

Senior Nature Club will meet at 2 p.m. Oct. 2 at Westminster Senior Center, 125 Stoner Ave. A video, The World's Last Great Places - Virunga National Park in the Heart of Africa, will be shown. 410-795-5124.

Bird club:

Carroll County Bird Club will meet at 7:30 p.m. at Carroll Community College, 1601 Washington Road. The program will be on brown pelicans in Maryland and the Chesapeake Bay. 410-857-1109.

Thursday

Transition workshop:

Carroll County Infants and Toddlers Program will hold a transition workshop from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at CHANGE Inc., 125 Stoner Ave., Westminster, for parents of children who will be turning age 3 in the next six months. 410-876-4437, Ext. 227.

Historical drama:

McDaniel College will present Voices - Conversations with Joan of Arc, a dramatic exploration of her life, at 8 p.m. through Sunday on Alumni Hall main stage. Tickets are $7 and $5 for senior citizens and students (not recommended for younger than age 15). 410-857-2599.

Friday

AARP meeting:

Carroll County Chapter 662 of AARP will meet at 12:30 p.m. at Wilhelm Ltd. Caterers on Route 140 in Westminster. Laura and Cliff Eyler will sing. Lunch reservations are required by today. A health program will be held at 11:15 a.m. 410-374-9249 or 410- 795-2399.

Community play:

The Carroll Players will present a dinner theater and the British comedy, It Runs in the Family, Friday, Saturday and Oct. 11-13, 18-20 and 25 and 26 at the Veterans of Foreign Wars post at 519 Poole Road, Westminster. Doors will open at 6 p.m. for dinner at 7 p.m. and show at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays; tickets are $25. Doors will open at noon for brunch at 1 p.m. and show at 2 p.m. Sundays. Star show:

Westminster Astronomical Society will hold a planetarium show for ages 6 and older at 7:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. at Bear Branch Nature Center, 300 John Owings Road, Westminster. Reservations are required. 410-848-2517.

Future

Teen time:

Carroll County Family YMCA will hold teen time for middle school pupils Saturday. A Rock `n' Bowl event will be held from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Thunderhead Bowling Centre in Taneytown. The cost is $7. A bus will leave from the YMCA in Westminster at 6:30 p.m. and return at 10 p.m. Registration is required by Friday. 410-848-3660, Ext. 222.
