North County has reinstated the six football players who were suspended Sept. 20 because of an alleged summer camp incident, the Capital/Gazette newspapers reported yesterday.

The students involved returned to school Wednesday, and all but one of the six - three varsity and three JV players - were allowed to play this week. The varsity player who didn't return was kept out because of an unrelated incident, coach Greg Justice said.

North County principal Patricia A. Plitt received an anonymous letter Sept. 12 that alleged a possible assault on one of the players during the team's summer camp Aug. 23-25 at Deep Creek Lake in Western Maryland.

The incident is still being investigated by the Garrett County State's Attorney's Office, the Capital/Gazette reported.
