Annapolis Transit reroutes buses for West Street work

Annapolis Transit will be rerouting buses and closing bus stops because of road repairs on West Street starting tomorrow.

The changes could cause delays in the normal bus schedule through January.

Buses on the outbound Yellow route, the Brown "B" route and the Gold "A" route will be detoured from West Street onto Calvert Street, then left onto Rowe Boulevard, left on Taylor Avenue and back to West Street at Westgate Circle.

The customer shelters at 80 West St. and at West Street and Madison Place will be closed.

The detoured buses can be boarded at the corner of Calvert and Northwest streets and on the westbound side of West Street near Brown Street and Brewer Avenue.

Inbound service is not expected to be affected by construction.

Information: 410-263-7964.

County plans to open dog park in Crofton

Anne Arundel County plans to open its third dog park, at Bell Branch Park in Crofton.

Officials spoke of the popularity of the other dog parks, at Quiet Waters and Broadneck parks, when they announced the new one.

The dog parks are thought to be responsible for an increase in the number of visitors to the parks.

The new dog park will be about 2 acres and will have the same rules as the other two parks in the county.

The $25,000 project is expected to be completed in the fall.
