Farm Heritage Days to be held this weekend

Farm Heritage Days will be celebrated, rain or shine, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Mount Pleasant Farm in Woodstock.

The celebration will include bluegrass music, a flea market, arts and crafts, a plant sale, antique farm machinery demonstrations, an old-time working blacksmith shop, wagon rides and antique cars and trucks. A live bluegrass Gospel church service is planned for 10 a.m. Sunday.

Admission and parking are free. Limited primitive camping will be available. The farm, home of the Howard County Conservancy, is at 10520 Old Frederick Road.

Glenelg High Boosters golf tourney is Oct. 17

Glenelg High School Boosters will hold their Fourth Annual Golf Tournament at the Links in Gettysburg, Pa., on Oct. 17. A shotgun start is planned for 1 p.m.

The cost is $100 a golfer; $380 a foursome, including a steak dinner and prizes. Proceeds will go to athletic and academic programs.

Homes for barn cats sought by Howard club

The Howard County Cat Club is seeking homes for barn cats. The cats are neutered or spayed, have been tested and vaccinated. Most are tame but prefer to live outdoors.

Foster homes are needed for cats. Volunteers are being sought.

Graduates: Air Force Airman Leroy E. Eyler, son of Virginia Eyler of Sykesville, has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio.
