Baltimore City

Central District

Theft/arrest: An attempt by police to arrest a purse-snatching suspect about 5:45 p.m. yesterday turned into a three-block chase through downtown rush-hour traffic, and ended with the man's arrest in the 500 block of N. Calvert St. Police said the purse was not recovered.

Southern District

Assault: Cherry Hill resident Robert Stanley, 47, was in an Amoco station in the 2900 block of Waterview Ave. about 8:15 a.m. Wednesday when a man he had hired to repair his Chevrolet pickup truck pulled up in the vehicle, entered the station and began buying coffee and doughnuts. When Stanley objected to the man using his vehicle for personal business, the man pulled a knife and slashed Stanley across the chest and cut his chin. Stanley was treated at Harbor Hospital for multiple lacerations.

Theft: Two men stole nearly $800 worth of truck parts and lubricants Wednesday from Harbor Truck Sales & Service in the 2700 block of Annapolis Road by charging the items on the account of a customer who denied approving the purchases.

Theft: A 40-foot, $19,000 trailer was stolen Wednesday in the 1100 block of E. Patapsco Ave.

Northern District

Burglary: Three stained-glass windows valued at nearly $1,000 were stolen Wednesday from a house in the 500 block of Rose Hill Terrace.

Robbery: Two men robbed Royal Farms in the 200 block of E. Cold Spring Lane of an undisclosed sum of money about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Baltimore County

North Point Precinct

Theft: Theft charges were pending against two Baltimore men in wheelchairs who tried to leave Epic Designs at Eastpoint Mall on Wednesday without paying for clothing valued at $240. The men, ages 38 and 39, were sitting on the clothing when they were stopped by a security officer, and were released after providing identification.

Woodlawn Precinct

Robbery: A woman, 22, was in the basement laundry room at Liberty Gardens Apartments in the 3400 block of Vargis Circle about 7 p.m. Wednesday when two youths robbed her of her keys and two rolls of quarters.

Essex Precinct

Burglary: Someone entered an apartment in the 9900 block of Dehaviland Way and poured bleach onto clothing and into a bottle of wine Wednesday.
