Young artists can apply for scholarships

Young artists are eligible to apply for scholarships awarded by the National Foundation of Advancement in the Arts.

High school seniors, or those who are age 17 or 18, can compete in the areas of art, photography, film, music, theater and writing.

Winners will be invited to participate in ARTS Week in Miami in January. In addition, up to 50 ARTS Week winners will be nominated for the White House Commission on Presidential Scholars.

The application deadline is Oct. 1. The deadline to submit materials is Nov. 1.
