Large crowd expected at Colt legend's service

With funeral services for John Unitas expected to draw a large crowd to the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen in North Baltimore today, police are urging motorists to avoid the area.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at the cathedral, 5200 N. Charles St., a block south of Northern Parkway. The Mass will be preceded by a memorial service at 9:15 a.m.

Police are recommending that drivers avoid the intersection of Charles and Northern Parkway and surrounding streets from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Additionally, the 5400 block of Boxhill Lane and the first block of Cotswold Road will be restricted to residential traffic only.
