Time: 3:30 p.m.

Outlook: Gilman, the visiting four-time Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association A Conference champion, enters the game ranked No. 24 nationally by USA Today. The Greyhounds have outscored state powers DeMatha and Urbana by a combined 53-9. St. Paul's, a 21-7 loser to Gilman last fall, scored a 13-0 victory over Fairmont Heights of Prince George's County last weekend.

No. 9 Patterson (1-0) at Carver (1-0)

Site: Utz Twardowicz Park

Time: 7 p.m.

Outlook: Coming off an easy win over Northwestern, Patterson should get a tougher test from the Bears and their highly touted WR, James Dyson.

No. 10 Eastern Tech (0-1) vs. Overlea (1-0)

Site: CCBC-Essex

When: 7 p.m.

Outlook: This Baltimore County game pits one of the Class 2A-1A league's stingier defenses in Eastern Tech against one of its most prolific offenses in Overlea. LB Jon Delair is among eight starters back from an Eastern Tech team that routed the Falcons, 47-6, last fall. Overlea WR Antowan Bell (seven catches, 117 yards, three TDs) and QB Craig McIntosh (14-for-26, 166 yards, five TDs) shone in the 40-18, season-opening victory over Chesapeake.

Forest Park (1-0) at Poly (1-0)

Time: 3:45 p.m.

Outlook: Poly won this Baltimore City West Division contest last fall, but missed the playoffs. The Foresters went on to a 9-2 season that included a berth in the Class 1A state playoffs.

Western Tech (1-0) at Catonsville (1-0)

Time: 7 p.m.

Outlook: In yet another faceoff in the difficult Baltimore County 2A-1A league, the visiting Wolverines travel 10 minutes to meet their rivals.

Owings Mills (1-0) at Lansdowne (1-0)

Time: 7 p.m.

Outlook: The winner of this 2A-1A league game between the visiting Eagles and the Vikings will likely remain in the thick of the chase for a county title.

Tomorrow

No. 2 Hereford (1-0) at Towson (1-0)

Time: 1 p.m.

Outlook: Hereford, the defending 2A state champion, puts its 14-game winning streak (including 31 straight in the regular season) on the line against a Towson squad that returns 27 players.

No. 7 Mount St. Joseph (1-1) at Bishop McNamara (2-0)

Time: 1 p.m.

Outlook: Mount St. Joseph won last year's game against the Mustangs, but this year's talented Washington-area team is coming off wins over solid teams from George Mason (Va.) and Valley Forge (Pa.).

Loyola (1-0) at Gonzaga (1-0)

Time: 1 p.m.

Outlook: The visiting Dons take on a team ranked No. 10 in the Washington area. It is the first on a Loyola schedule that includes such ranked teams as Urbana, Georgetown Prep, Gilman, Mount St. Joseph, Calvert Hall and Malvern Prep (Pa.).

Kenwood (1-0) at Dundalk (1-0)

Time: 1 p.m.

Outlook: After a 22-game winning streak came to an end last weekend, the Bluebirds try to rebound at Dundalk in this Baltimore County 4A-3A league opener.
