Lane closures expected this week for utility work

Road work will require lane closures this week near the rental car return area on Elm Road at Baltimore-Washington International Airport. Lanes will be closed from midnight to 5 a.m. from Wednesday to Friday to make utility improvements.

New tenant-employee lot scheduled to open Sept. 9

A new tenant-employee parking lot will open at 1 a.m. Sept. 9 at Ridge and Stoney Run Roads, near Route 100.

Shuttle bus service will be provided 24 hours a day. Round-the-clock security will be in effect. The new lot is about four miles from the airport.

USO `care package' effort at airport to be expanded

On Tuesday, USO World Headquarters and USO-Metro at BWI will launch the expansion of "Operation USO Care Package."

The program, which aims to boost the morale of troops bound for the Washington area and areas of conflict overseas, allows individuals and corporations to forward messages of support and donate funds for individual care packages.

Vacations vendor planning 17 nonstop flights from BWI

Apple Vacations has announced that its 2003 schedule will include 17 nonstop flights from BWI to Mexico and the Caribbean, making it the largest international tour operator at BWI.

Apple will base two aircraft at BWI and fly to destinations including Cancun, Punta Cana, Costa Rica, and the Bahamas.

Apple's vacation packages are sold only through travel agents.
