Alberta Estelle Reese, 54, homemaker, avid reader

Alberta Estelle Reese, a homemaker and avid reader, died of cardiac arrest Aug. 23 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air. The Baldwin resident was 54.

Born in Baltimore and raised in Parkville, the former Alberta Estelle DiMarino was a 1966 graduate of Parkville High School. She met Alan Reese in school, and they were married in 1969.

In 1974, the couple appeared as extras in longtime friend John Waters' film Pink Flamingos.

Mrs. Reese enjoyed gardening, reading and sewing. She was an accomplished cook, and her recipe for cheesecake was included in John Shields' 1998 book Chesapeake Bay Cooking.

Services were held Tuesday.

In addition to her husband, the managing editor of American Literary Press in Baltimore, she is survived by two sons, Jesse A. Reese and Joshua G. Reese, both of Baldwin; a daughter, Camille Jocelyn Pitarra of Baltimore; her mother, Estelle DiMarino of Baldwin; and a sister, Donna Baldwin of Baltimore.
