Rangers update

While shortstop Alex Rodriguez decides whether to give back part of his $252 million salary for the good of the sport, these teams will engage in their second series of the year. The Orioles took two of three in Arlington before the break, with Lopez winning the last game after allowing four runs over seven innings. Park pitched the first game, getting no decision after permitting five runs in 6 1/3 innings. Rodriguez, who's vying for the Triple Crown, and Rafael Palmeiro homered twice in the series. Though stuck in last place again, the Rangers had won seven of their past 10, and 10 of 16, before yesterday's 10-3 loss to New York. They are 18-11 vs. the AL East. The Rangers' bullpen has been strengthened by Danny Kolb, who was 3-2 with a 1.72 ERA and one save in 17 games since coming off the 60-day disabled list before the Yankees reached him for two runs in one inning last night.
