Crabbing regulations: The Maryland Department of Natural Resources will hold a hearing on three proposed regulatory changes for the blue crab fishery at 7 p.m. at the Tawes office building, 580 Taylor Ave., Annapolis. 410-260-8008 or 410- 541-8411.

Identity theft: County police Officer Donald Clime will conduct a program on identity theft at 10:30 a.m. at O'Malley Senior Center, 1275 Odenton Road, Odenton. Campaign forum: The NAACP will sponsor a candidates forum from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Asbury United Methodist Church, 87 West St., Annapolis. The forum will observe the 39th anniversary of the March on Washington and offer candidates for lieutenant governor, comptroller, Anne Arundel county executive, state's attorney and sheriff a chance to share their views on issues facing the community. Craft workshops: Annapolis Senior Center will hold a workshop for the Holiday Bazaar from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the center in Eastport Shopping Center, 1027 Bay Ridge Ave. 410- 222-1818.


Democratic club: A representative of Democratic gubernatorial candidate Kathleen Kennedy Townsend's campaign will speak at this week's Almost 7:30 Friday Morning Democratic Breakfast from 7:45 a.m. to 9 a.m. at O'Brien's Restaurant, 113 Main St., Annapolis. The cost is $3.50. 410-757-1678.


Five-mile run: The Annapolis Striders will hold its Dawson's 5-Mile Run beginning at 8 a.m., with a one-mile fun run starting at 8:05 a.m., Sept. 8 at Severna Park High School, 60 Robinson Road and Benfield Road. Register by mail or download entry form at www.annapolisstriders .org before Sept. 1, or on race day from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. Pre-entry is $3 for Striders members; $4 or nonmembers; all race day entries are $5. Therapeutic riding: Maryland Therapeutic Riding will begin an eight-week autumn therapeutic riding and hippotherapy session from Monday to Oct. 26 on Old Herald Harbor Road in Crownsville. The session is for individuals with special needs. Riding times are available Tuesday through Thursday mornings, Friday afternoon and Saturday mornings, with slots available for new riders. Scholarships are available to qualified riders. The winter session will be held Nov. 11 through Dec. 14. Volunteers are needed to help conduct the sessions. 410-267-8900.

Season opening: Photographer John Horn of WildCatNip Photography in Annapolis will hold a discussion on digital photography at Arundel Camera Club's 2002-2003 season opening. The group will meet at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 4 in Room G144 of Severna Park High School, 60 Robinson Road. Meetings are held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays at the school.
