Preseason rewind

A recap of the Ravens' 13-12 win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Friday.

Thumbs up: Receiver Travis Taylor showed up for the first time this preseason with four catches for 59 yards. He had the Ravens' longest catch, bringing in a wobbly 33-yard pass between two defenders. ... Dave Zastudil dropped four of his seven punts inside the 20-yard line. ... Quarterback Chris Redman had five passes covering more than 17 yards. ... The Ravens' starting defense gave up just two field goals despite surrendering 181 yards in the first half. ... On third downs, the Ravens limited the Eagles to a 21 percent conversion rate (3-for-14). ... Tight end Todd Heap looked strong running after the catch, totaling 55 yards on three receptions. ... After two misses last week, Matt Stover hit field goals from 44 and 31 yards.

Thumbs down: Ravens opponents have scored 32 of their 52 points this preseason off turnovers. ... The Ravens' starting offense failed to score a touchdown for the third straight preseason game and got no closer than the Eagles' 22-yard line. ... The Ravens' special teams gave up an average of 27 yards on three kickoff returns and an average of 21.5 yards on two punt returns. ... Right tackle Edwin Mulitalo struggled in pass protection. ... Redman didn't seem to have the same focus as last week and was off target on a lot of his shorter passes. ... Where was the Ravens' containment when Donovan McNabb ran 20 yards untouched on one scramble?

Quote to note: "I feel that everyone on the field played hard. We are not going to get our heads down." Redman on the starting offense failing to score a touchdown in its first three preseason games.
