IOWA: Suspended junior DB Benny Sapp indefinitely from football team one day after he was arrested on charges of resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and public intoxication after police saw him push a woman into a building.

KENTUCKY WESLEYAN: Announced that basketball G Marlon Parmer has transferred from New Mexico.

OHIO: Announced that F Kevin Shorter has left men's basketball team.

OHIO STATE: Announced resignation of men's assistant basketball coach Bruce Parkhill.

PENNSYLVANIA: Announced resignation of men's lacrosse coach Matt Hogan to become assistant principal at St. Mary's High in Annapolis.

SAN DIEGO STATE: Announced following self-imposed penalties for violating NCAA rules by holding summer football workouts at a local beach: school will eliminate 21 practice days through 2004 season, cut six scholarships through 2005 and suspend assistant coach Damon Baldwin for six practice days during 2002 fall camp.

VILLA JULIE: Named Jonathan Thayil women's soccer coach. Announced resignation of baseball coach Ray Kosmicky.

BENGALS: Signed OL Brock Gutierrez and OL Scott Rehberg to two-year contract extensions, through 2004. Waived LB Jermaine Petty.

PATRIOTS: Announced that new stadium has been renamed from CMGI Field to Gillette Stadium.

RAVENS: Signed free-agent LB Bernardo Harris, who had been with Packers. Waived LB Casey Tisdale and S Chonn Lacey.
