Construction worker hurt; agencies investigating fall

State and Carroll County officials are investigating an accident at a home under construction in Westminster that injured a 24-year-old construction worker, authorities said.

The accident happened at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday when Anthony W. Schrell fell two stories from a ladder into the basement. An ambulance from Reese and Community Volunteer Fire Company treated Schrell at the scene, and he was flown to Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore for possible internal injuries. Schrell was released from the hospital yesterday.

He is employed by A-1 Heating & Air Conditioning of Westminster. The Carroll County Sheriff's Department and the Maryland Occupational Safety and Health agency are investigating the accident.
