`Check It Out Challenge' run/walk at Rash Field

Take your mark, get set and participate in Hadassah's "Check It Out Challenge" Sunday at Rash Field. Runners and walkers are invited to take on a 5K run/walk, which begins on Key Highway and winds through Locust Point. Walkers and leisurely strollers can take part in the 1.5-mile fun walk along the Inner Harbor waterfront.

Note that no pets are permitted on either course. And no headphones, skates or scooters may be used on the 5K course.

Awards will be presented to the top three male and female overall runners and to the top three male and female runners in each of seven age categories.

The challenge benefits Hadassah of Greater Baltimore, which funds educational programs for breast, prostate and testicular cancers.

The run/walk takes place at Rash Field, off Key Highway Sunday. Registration at 6:30 a.m., aerobic warm-up at 7:45 a.m., 5K run/walk begins at 8 a.m., the 1.5-mile fun walk begins at 8:15 a.m., and awards ceremony at 9:30 a.m. Registration: $25 on race day; $18 before race day; free for ages under 8.
