4-H/FFA Fair schedule

July 30, 2002

The 2002 Carroll County 4-H/FFA Fair is open through Friday at Carroll County Agriculture Center on Smith Avenue in Westminster.

Fair admission is free. The dining hall is open daily, but hours vary. Outdoor food concessions are open daily during fair hours. The indoor exhibit hall is open daily, but hours vary. The information and raffle booth will be open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. Pig races will be held tomorrow through Thursday; times may vary. The fair is accessible to the disabled.

The schedule of special events is:

Today:

8 a.m.: Bicycle rodeo.

9 a.m. to 2 p.m.:Children's Day make-it-and-take-it crafts and entertainment(sheep dog herding at 9:30 a.m.)

9 a.m.:Sheep fitting and showing contest.

Noon: Dairy goat team fitting and showing contest.

1:30 p.m.:Clover small pet show.

5 p.m.:Market sheep show.

7 p.m.:Dairy fit out contest, skid steer contest.

7 p.m. to 10 p.m.:Bootleg concert.

Tomorrow:

8 a.m.: Western horse show. 9 a.m.: Market swine fitting and showing contest, market pairs and producer classes.

11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.:Tan & Medford buildings closed for preparation for cake sale.

1 p.m.:Dairy steer fitting and showing contest, dairy steer show.

2 p.m. to 2:45 p.m.:View edible art and decorated cakes in Extension office Room A & B.

5 p.m.:Market swine show.

6:30 p.m.:Bake sale of items not in auction. 7 p.m.:Cake auction.

8 p.m. to 9 p.m.:Josh Norris magic show.

Thursday:

7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.: Senior citizen exhibits entered and judged.

9 a.m.:Dairy cattle fitting and showing contest, dairy cattle show, beef cattle fitting and showing contest.

1 p.m. to 2 p.m.:Senior citizen social time.

6 p.m.:Market beef show.

6:30 p.m.:Grandparents contest.

7 p.m.:Mule pull.

7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.:Jay Henley band concert.

9:30 p.m.:Dairy goat milk-out.

Friday:

9 a.m.: Dairy goat fitting and showing contest, dairy goat show, rabbit fitting and showing contest, tractor operator contest.

3 p.m.:Shepherd's lead contest.

4 p.m. to 8 p.m.:Pit beef and pork dinner (all you can eat, purchase tickets at the door).

5:30 p.m.:Livestock sale.

7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.:Karaoke.

8 p.m. to 1 a.m.:4-H/FFA dance.

10 p.m.: Raffle drawing for cash and a quilt.

10:15 p.m.:Fair closes.
