Md. aviation agency launches public information Web site

The Maryland Aviation Administration has launched its Web site - www.marylandavia - to inform the public about airport business, community relations and employment information.

The state agency, which promotes aeronautical activity in Maryland, owns and operates Baltimore-Washington International Airport and Martin State Airport, and regulates the state's 35 public-use airports.

The Web site includes information about BWI and Martin State airports' neighbors committees, noise assistance programs and links to state transportation agency Web sites. The site also includes a regional aviation section and electronic versions of the Maryland Airport Directory and the Maryland Aeronautical Chart, previously available only in print.

Air Jamaica offering `beachside check-in'

Baltimore-Washington International Airport passengers flying Air Jamaica may use the airline's new "beachside check-in" on return flights.

The program allows travelers to get their boarding passes at more than a dozen hotels.

Air Jamaica offers a daily flight out of BWI to Montego Bay, with connecting service to points throughout the Caribbean. The airline was voted Best Airline to the Caribbean for four consecutive years at the World Travel Awards.
