George Breidenbaugh Sr., 68, dairy, vegetable farmer

George Nelson "Bud" Breidenbaugh Sr., a lifelong Baltimore County farmer, died of cancer Thursday at his Glen Arm home. He was 68.

Born in the farmhouse where he died, Mr. Breidenbaugh, was raised in Glen Arm and graduated from Towson High School in 1952. During the years that followed, he raised dairy cows and grew vegetables on the 100-acre farm that had been in his family for several generations.

Mr. Breidenbaugh was a longtime member of the Fallston Farmer's Club.

He was an avid sports fan and held season tickets to the Colts and the Ravens. He also enjoyed watching the Orioles and University of Maryland basketball on television, according to his family.

Mr. Breidenbaugh was a lifelong member of Waugh United Methodist Church, Long Green Pike in Glen Arm, where services will be held at 1 p.m. tomorrow.

He is survived by his wife of more than 45 years, the former Elizabeth Harlan; a sister, Dorothy B. White of Hydes; four children, George Nelson Breidenbaugh Jr. and William H. Breidenbaugh, both of Glen Arm, and Mary B. Amoss and Rachel B. Holmes, both of Fallston; and nine grandchildren.
