Community Methodist plans outdoor worship at 9:30 a.m. service

Community Methodist Church will hold outdoor worship at the 9:30 a.m. service Aug. 4 through Sept. 1.

The casual service is held in the wooded area of the church property at 1690 Reidel Road in Crofton. Picnic tables and benches provide seating.

The church also will hold its annual Trash and Treasure sale in the Fellowship Hall from 8 a.m. to noon Aug. 24.

The sale is sponsored by the United Methodist Women, and proceeds will be used to support mission work. Articles for sale include household goods, furniture, books and children's clothing. Information: 410-721-9129.

Peach festival is Aug. 3 at Eastport Methodist

Eastport United Methodist Church will hold its 27th annual Peach Festival from noon to 5 p.m. Aug. 3 in the Fellowship Hall, 926 Bay Ridge Ave., Annapolis.

The event will include bake and craft tables and a flea market. The menu includes fried chicken, corn on the cob, biscuits, rolls, string beans, potato salad, pickled beets, iced tea, coffee and peach cake or all the peaches you can eat.

Carryout dinners will be available. Cost is $10 for adults and $4 for children younger than age 12. Orders are being taken for peach cakes for $5 each and pickled beets at $4.25 per quart. Call 410-263-5490 for orders.

Family crusade set for Pasadena church

Pastor Glen H. Morris and the Chesapeake Christian Center will hold a family summer crusade meeting called "Faith Factor" from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. July 29 through Aug. 2 at the church, 7975 Tick Neck Road, Pasadena. Skits, games, crafts and classes will highlight the program, and a meal will be served each night. Information: 410-255-3168.

Summer program at Assembly of God

Go-Forth Ministries presents "Circus of the Son" from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Aug. 2, 3, and 4 at the Annapolis Assembly of God, 913 Cedar Park Road, Annapolis. The event includes a "time machine," games, prizes, puppets and other programs. All are welcome to attend. Information: 410-267-6606

Crab feast scheduled at Family Life Center

St. Philip's Episcopal Church is sponsoring an all-you-can-eat crab feast from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. July 27 on the grounds of the Family Life Center, 730 Bestgate Road, Annapolis.

Donations are $35 for adults and $10 for children age 12 and younger. In addition to crabs, there will be a full picnic-style menu featuring desserts made by the members of the congregation. Proceeds from the crab feast will fund the church's outreach and youth program. Tickets: 410-841-6717.

Pasadena Methodists plan Vacation Bible School

Vacation Bible School at the Pasadena United Methodist Church will feature "God's Great Gallery" from 9 a.m. to noon for ages 4 to 11, from Aug. 5 to 9. Cost is $3 per child or $5 per family. Call 410-647-3090.

Talk on sacred geometry tomorrow in Annapolis

American Healing Arts Alliance will present Martin Berger, speaking on "sacred geometry" and how numbers represent more than physical reality, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. tomorrow at the Fahs House at Unitarian Universalist Church of Annapolis, 333 Dubois Road.

Sacred geometry demonstrates how beauty, harmony and wholeness are revealed. Reservations: 410-266-5447.

Severn Lutheran sponsors teen events

"Summer's Cool, Jesus Rules," a five-week ministry event for middle and high school-aged youths, will run through Aug. 8 at Christ the Servant Lutheran Church, 2622 Annapolis Road, in Severn. Programs include:

Thursday -- Bowie Baysox Game, 5:30 p.m. to about 10 p.m. Tickets are $10 each.

Aug. 1 -- Event to be planned, 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Aug. 8 -- Around the World Global Mission Party, 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Biblical cruise: "Amazon Adventure," a Vacation Bible School for children ages 4 to 12, will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday at Anchor Baptist Church, 320 W. Pasadena Road. Children will experience a fictional cruise down the Amazon River. The program is free; however, each evening will feature contests in which money will be collected for projects. 410-647-9614.

Neil Simon play: The Sisterhood of Congregation Kneseth Israel is sponsoring a trip to see Promises, Promises, a play by Neil Simon, at 8 p.m. Aug. 18 at the Annapolis Summer Garden Theatre. Dinner begins at 5:30 p.m. Prices are $10 for the show and $16 for dinner and show. Transportation from Kneseth Israel is $5.
