Cadillac Grand Prix at RFK in Washington

Fans of race-car-driving: Get your wheels in motion and head to the Cadillac Grand Prix of Washington, D.C. The massive auto racing event will take at RFK Stadium tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday. There'll be nearly round-the-clock racing, including the BF Goodrich Trans-Am Race and the American Le Mans Series Race. Also featured will be the Cadillac Grand Prix Celebrity Pro-Am Race, in which professional drivers are paired with celebrities and drive one lap each, competing for the fastest time against other pairs. William Shatner, Coolio, Tim Matheson, Melissa Joan Hart and Steve Harwell, lead singer of Smashmouth, are among the participating celebrity drivers.

Daredevil Robbie Knievel will perform a challenging motorcycle jump at the stadium just prior to the ALMS race.

The Cadillac Grand Prix Lifestyle Expo will run all three days in the DC Armory, giving fans a taste of the racing lifestyle through talks with drivers and exhibits from Michelin, Extreme Street, Corvette Heritage Tour and others. Various celebrities and drivers who are taking part in race events will meet and sign autographs for fans.

The racing takes place 9 a.m.-7 p.m. tomorrow-Saturday and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday at RFK Stadium, 2400 E. Capitol St. S.E., Washington. There is no parking at RFK, but satellite parking with shuttle service to the stadium is available. The expo takes place 10 a.m.-5 p.m. tomorrow and 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday-Sunday at the DC Armory, next to the stadium. $20-$35 general admission; reserved seating available.
