Exercise program due to start Thursday

The Savage Senior Center, 9525 Durness Lane, will offer its 50 Plus Agewell summer exercise class from 11 a.m. to noon, beginning Thursday. The cost for the seven-week class is $8.

Computer Seniors of America will offer a Word 2000 word processing workshop from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Thursday and July 19. The cost is $16.

The Senior Trailblazers will sponsor a trip to Midway Slots and Simulcast in Harrington, Del., on July 25. The cost is $7, including transportation, with bingo and a raffle on the bus, an all-you-can-eat buffet and admission to the Delaware State Fair.

@SUBHEDClay crafts classes set at Carroll Baldwin Hall

Courses for adults and children in the art of using polymer clay to make figurines and other crafts will be offered by Kathryn Jo Ottman this month at Carroll Baldwin Hall, 9035 Baltimore St., Savage.

Participants may sign up for some or all of the classes, which are scheduled for Wednesday and July 22, 24, 25 and 31. Times vary. The cost is $15 a person for each session. A multichild discount is available.

@SUBHEDLaurel hospital to hold blood drive Aug. 6

Laurel Regional Hospital, with the Red Cross, will hold a blood drive from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Aug. 6 in the hospital's J.R. Jones Conference Room, 7300 Van Dusen Road, Laurel.

@SUBHEDBands to perform today at Montpelier Mansion

South Laurel Recreation Council Inc. is presenting its 24th Montpelier Summer Concert Series. The Maryland Community Band will perform Broadway tunes, marches and light classics at 7:30 p.m. today on the grounds of Montpelier Mansion, Route 197 and Montpelier Drive, in south Laurel.

Those who attend may take a picnic and blankets or chairs to the free two-hour concert.

Preserving memories: The Savage branch library, 9525 Durness Lane, will offer "Preserving Memories: Scrapbooking Basics," a program for adults and teen-agers ages 12 and older, from 10 a.m. to noon tomorrow.
