The Maryland Stadium Authority has extended the contract of executive director Richard W. Slosson until 2006.

Slosson is paid $238,544 a year under the contract, according to information provided to The Sun in response to a request made in accordance with the state's Public Information Act.

The authority approved the extension during a five-minute, closed-door meeting May 1, according to minutes of the meeting. No announcement was made of the action.

"There was no change in his salary or benefits," said Ralph S. Tyler, a partner with Hogan & Hartson who was hired by the stadium authority to respond to the information request.

Slosson took over the authority's top staff position in 2000. The authority has an annual budget of $120 million and the equivalent of about 80 full-time employees. It operates the Camden Yards sports complex and manages construction projects for other agencies and local governments in the state.
