Catcher Ivan Rodriguez, who had started in nine consecutive All-Star games and played in 10 straight, was not selected this year. New York Yankees catcher Jorge Posada was the leading vote-getter, and American League manager Joe Torre selected Minnesota Twins catcher A.J. Pierzynski as the reserve. Rodriguez missed nearly two months with a back injury, but he has three homers in his past two games, giving him 202 for his career. The Rangers took the season series against the Orioles last season, 7-2, winning all four games in Texas. This will be the first meeting between the teams this season. Park has struggled after signing with the Rangers as a free agent in December. Rogers has a no-trade clause in his contract, but he said this week that he'd be willing to waive it if he has the chance to go to a contender before the July 31 trade deadline.
