Ottawa 8, Rochester 4: Joe Vitiello homered and drove in three runs to help the visiting Lynx double up the Red Wings.

Vitiello, who went 3-for-5 in the game, hit a two-run shot in the third inning for his team-leading 11th homer and doubled home a run and scored to highlight a three-run fourth.

Osvaldo Fernandez (3-2) allowed four runs and eight hits, striking out two batters in 5 1/3 innings to pick up the win.

Loser Kennie Steenstra (1-1) was charged with seven runs - five earned - and eight hits in the first 3 1/3 innings.

Double-A Eastern League

Akron 9-5, Bowie 2-4: The Aeros swept a doubleheader against the host Baysox.

In the nightcap, Bowie shortstop Maikell Diaz hit a two-run double with the bases loaded in the bottom of the sixth to cut Akron's lead to 5-4.

But Marcos Mendozam, the Aeros' closer, sent the three Baysox batters down in the bottom of the seventh inning to end the game.

Single-A Carolina League

Frederick 4, Potomac 2: The Keys defeated the Cannons in front of 1,357 at Pfitzner Stadium as Juan Figueroa allowed two runs and struck out six in eight innings to earn his first win of the year.

Figueroa picked up a no-decision in each of his first four starts with the Keys and was 0-3 in 15 appearances at Double-A Bowie earlier this season.

The Keys broke a 2-2 tie in the eighth inning with two runs on Eric Shanks' sacrifice bunt and subsequent error by pitcher Richie Burgess.

Shanks finished the game 1-for-3 with two RBIs and is batting .417 (10-for-24) with four RBIs in his first eight games with the Keys.
