Mariners update

The Mariners took two of three from the Orioles last weekend, then ran into that tenacious bunch from Tampa Bay again. The Mariners, who have the third-most wins in the American League, beat the Devil Rays, 5-2, last night, but have lost three of five to the team tied for the worst record in the AL. Ichiro Suzuki had another great series against the Orioles, going 6-for-12. Like a lot of teams, the Orioles still haven't found a way to stop him. They also haven't found a way to beat Moyer, who won his 13th consecutive decision against them Sunday. The Orioles will miss Mariners ace Freddy Garcia this time, as he pitched last night's game against Tampa Bay. Soriano looked strong Saturday in his first major-league start, allowing just one hit through the first five innings before tiring in the sixth.
