May 25, 2002|By FROM STAFF REPORTS

IJAMSVILLE - Joe Wood and George Clenney made just four pars, but their 10 birdies (split 7-3, respectively) and four bogeys, including three three-putts, were enough for a three-shot victory in the fourth annual Maryland State Senior Two-Man Championship at Holly Hills Country Club.

The Caroline Country Club team, which birdied the last five holes and eight of the last 11, ended 35-31-66 for the 6,443-yard, par-72 Frederick County course. Dude Mertz-Greg McNaney, from Beaver Creek CC, and Perky Cullinane-Al Lewis, Columbia CC, tied for second at 69 in the 44-team field.
