Farm purchased as possible school site

May 23, 2002

The Carroll commissioners have purchased a 92-acre farm in South Carroll for potential use as a school site.

They paid $894,700 for the property of Daniel S. and Charlotte S. Dulany at 3701 Klees Mill Road near Route 26.

A recent assessment valued the property at about $1.1 million, said Pat Hill, special assistant to the commissioners.

The county will continue to lease the land for farm use until plans materialize for a school to ease crowding, Hill said.
