Spalding, Park advance to `B' title game

Derek Platt and Kyle Dixon scored four goals each to lead No. 12 Archbishop Spalding to a 14-5 victory over visiting John Carroll in the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association B Conference boys lacrosse semifinal yesterday.

Platt and Dixon also combined for six assists for the Cavaliers (17-5), who will play Park for the title 5:15 p.m. on Friday at Johns Hopkins University.

Park 13, AACS 6: Ross Nochumowitz had five goals and an assist for the host Bruins (14-2) in the other semifinal.

C Conference

Gibbons 16, Glenelg Country 3: Kenny Phelan set the tone for a six-goal, three-assist day by scoring four times in the game's first 40 seconds to lift the host Crusaders (14-4) over the Dragons (5-10) in a semifinal.

Gibbons will play Chapelgate 3 p.m. Friday at Johns Hopkins for the title.

Chapelgate 13, Towson Catholic 10: Ryan Eglseder (three goals, three assists) led the host Flames (14-7) back from an 8-2 deficit with 10 unanswered goals.
