Executive OKs construction funds for roads projects in Linthicum

May 19, 2002

County Executive Janet S. Owens has approved a $275,000 capital improvement project to rebuild Madingley Road between Cheddington Road and Sudbury Road in the Crestwood community in Linthicum.

The $145,000 construction contract has been awarded to NZI Construction of Beltsville. The project will improve the road's surface, drainage, curb and gutters. Work is to be completed by mid-September.

Reconstruction of roads in the Crestwood Community began with Cheddington Road; that project was completed last year. Plans for work on Sudbury Road are in the design phase.

As work proceeds on Madingley Road, residents can expect to see construction equipment, workers and temporary traffic-control devices. There may be temporary road closures and changes to traffic patterns. Motorists are urged to avoid the work area if possible, to use caution when driving through the construction zone and to pay attention to equipment, signs and flag persons.

As driveway aprons are replaced, individual driveways may be inaccessible for a day. Affected residents will be notified in advance. On-street parking may be temporarily unavailable in construction zones while work is being performed. Information: 410-761-9889.
