Devil Rays update

While other teams have gotten fat facing Tampa Bay, the Orioles have split the all-time series with the Devil Rays, 32-32, including 4-4 this year. They will play each other 11 more times this season, but after this series, the Orioles begin a 19-game stretch against the Athletics, Mariners, Yankees and Dodgers. Tampa Bay seems to have recovered from its franchise-worst 15-game losing streak, which ended Saturday when Randy Winn hit a three-run walk-off homer off Orioles closer Jorge Julio. The Devil Rays took the series with a win Sunday and then split the first two games of their next series with the Yankees before getting trounced by New York last night. Tonight's starting pitcher, Sturtze, has faced the Orioles twice this season without getting a decision, posting a 3.29 ERA over 13 2/3 innings. Tampa has won five of six games Sturtze has started against the Orioles in his career.
