Louise B. Jones, 90, homemaker, volunteer

Louise B. Jones, a homemaker and volunteer, died of kidney failure Thursday at a hospital in Denton, Texas, where she was visiting a daughter. She was 90.

Mrs. Jones had been a resident of Relay in Baltimore County for more than 40 years.

Louise Brown was born and raised in Newport News, Va., where she graduated from high school. She worked in the drafting department of Newport News Shipbuilding and Drydock Co. during the 1930s.

In 1939, she married Linwood M. Jones, who died in 1963.

Mrs. Jones was an active parishioner of Arbutus Baptist Church, worked in its outreach program for the needy and was a member of its bowling team. She also volunteered for many years at Southwest Emergency Services, another program helping the needy.

A member of the Catonsville Senior Center and the Women's Club of Relay, she enjoyed playing bridge, gardening and reading.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Arbutus Baptist Church, 5709 Oakland Road.

Mrs. Jones is survived by a son, Peter R. Jones of Baltimore; two daughters, Annlynn Ayres of Relay and Nancy Glantz of Denton; seven grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
