Mikulski aide to meet residents at senior center

Denise Nook, director of Sen. Barbara A. Mikulski's Annapolis office, will visit Pasadena Senior Center from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday to discuss citizen concerns and services.

No appointments are necessary for conferences.

Shopping excursion, lunch trip planned

A shopping trip for seniors to Value City and Dollar Express with lunch at Old Country Buffet will be offered May 30.

Shoppers will depart for Annapolis from Pasadena Senior Center at 9:45 a.m. and return at 2 p.m. The signup deadline is May 23. Registration: 410-222- 0030.

Senior Center Week: Annapolis Senior Center will hold events this week in observance of Senior Center Week.

Celebrate anniversary: To celebrate Pasadena Senior Center's two-year anniversary and in observance of Older Americans Month, the center is staging a series of musical programs. Scheduled performers are: today, the Massiminos; tomorrow, the Severna Park Bums; Friday, Dottie Mach and Satin 'n' Sass; Tuesday, Spring Fling. Most shows begin at 12:45 p.m. or 1 p.m. Call for times. 410-222-0030.

Public speaking: Frank Holston will teach a class on public speaking from 12:45 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. May 23 and 30, and June 2 and 27 at Annapolis Senior Center, 1027 Bay Ridge Ave., Annapolis. The seminar is free. Registration is required. 410-222-1818.

Picnic tickets: Tickets are on sale for the Welcome to Summer picnic at Mayo Beach Park, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 6. Seniors from Annapolis, South County and O'Malley senior centers are welcome to participate in a day of food, fun and entertainment. Tickets ($7) are available at the three centers. Transportation is available upon request. Senior center membership is not required. 410-222-1818.

Senior showcase: Anne Arundel Historical Society is planning a bus trip to the Essex Community College theater Sunday to see Senior Star Showcase. The show, a tribute to veterans, will include dance routines and spiritual, jazz, country and Broadway music. The bus will leave Benson-Hammond House at 1 p.m. The cost (including transportation) is $15. Reservations: 410-859-3440.

Trips include Gettysburg, Saturday; Atlantic City, June 13; a boat ride to St. Michaels, July 15; Red Roost crab feast, Aug. 13; Sight and Sound Dinner Theater, Sept. 11; Western Maryland train trip, Oct. 22; Dutch Apple Dinner Theater, Nov. 7; and Christmas in Williamsburg, Dec. 3-5. 410-222-1818.

Discover the enneagram: The enneagram, a tool for personality self-assessment, will be explored in a four-week introductory class that will meet today May 22 and 29 and June 7 at Annapolis Senior Center, 1027 Bayridge Ave., in Eastport Shopping Center.
