Hospital auxiliary to present basket bingo at Moose lodge

North Arundel Hospital Auxiliary will present basket bingo at the Glen Burnie Moose lodge on Crain Highway, one block south of Hospital Drive, at 2 p.m. May 25.

Tickets are $12 in advance or $15 at the door. The event will feature 20 games, two raffles and door prizes. Proceeds benefit the hospital's new cancer center. Information: 410-787- 4504.

Reunion set for patients with hip, knee replacement

North Arundel Hospital in Glen Burnie invites current and former patients of the hospital's Washington Hip and Knee Center to its fourth annual picnic at 5:30 p.m. June 26 at Lake Waterford Park in Pasadena.

Patients can visit with physicians and staff, reunite with their treatment team and meet other hip and knee replacement patients.

War of 1812: Anne Arundel County Historical Society and Anne Arundel County Genealogical Society will sponsor a seminar on the War of 1812, "Yes! The Star-Spangled Banner Yet Waves," from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. June 1 at Glen Burnie Improvement Association. The cost is $20. Blood pressure: North Arundel Hospital Auxiliary offers free blood pressure screenings from 8:30 a.m. to noon the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month at Harundale Presbyterian Church; from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. the first Thursday of each month at the hospital; and from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. the third Thursday of each month at Marley Station mall. 410-787-4367.

Returns from gulf: Navy Seaman Ellahzar R. Henson, son of Claudette C. Davenport of Glen Burnie, recently returned from a six-month deployment to the Mediterranean and Persian Gulf on the guided-missile cruiser USS Vella Gulf, based in Norfolk, Va. Henson was one of more than 10,000 Atlantic Fleet sailors and Marines who participated in Operation Enduring Freedom. Henson is a 1999 graduate of Severna Park High School.

Completes training: Marine Corps Pvt. Wallace C. Logan III, son of Robin I. Owens of Glen Burnie, recently completed the Basic Food Service Course with Marine Corps Detachment, U.S. Army Quartermaster Center, Fort Lee., Va. Logan joined the Marine Corps in June.
