Indians update

A promising start has been erased for the Cleveland Indians, who suffered their 19th loss in 25 games on Sunday. Even worse, it completed a three-game sweep by the lowly Kansas City Royals, their first against the Indians at home in nearly 17 years. The Indians are 9-7 at home. The offense has been a handicap, though losing Kenny Lofton, Roberto Alomar, Juan Gonzalez and Marty Cordova during the winter shouldn't make this a surprise. Cleveland has scored two runs in its past 26 innings and is 0-8 when it doesn't homer. Jim Thome is batting .213, but he's got 10 homers and 30 RBIs. Ten of his RBIs have come in the past eight games. He hit two three-run shots at Camden Yards, when the Indians took two of three games last week. This time, the Orioles can't avoid Colon and Sabathia. Erickson is 0-6 with an 8.08 earned run average at Jacobs Field.
