Ella Mae Wilson, 80, church volunteer

Ella Mae Wilson, a homemaker and church volunteer, died Saturday of complications from Alzheimer's disease at Genesis Eldercare Severna Park Center. She was 80.

Born in Montpelier, Miss., Ella Mae Aycock was a graduate of Mississippi State University for Women in Columbus, earning a degree in secretarial science. In the 1940s, she taught bookkeeping and shorthand at Woodland High School in Woodland, Miss.

She moved to Severna Park in 1957 and became a member of Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church, where she taught Sunday school and was a member of church circles. She was a Meals on Wheels volunteer.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. today at Woods Memorial, 611 Baltimore-Annapolis Boulevard, Severna Park.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, J. Ford Wilson; two sons, Larry Wilson of Annapolis and Mark Wilson of Eldersburg; two daughters, Dianne Roberts of Madison, Conn., and Kay Anderson of Olney; and seven grandchildren.
