Ethnic events scheduled

The Showcase of Nations -- 10 ethnic festivals coordinated by the city -- kicks off this month and will run through September.

The festivals will feature traditional dances, different cuisine, live music and crafts.

First up is the Polish Festival, which will run from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. May 31 at Patterson Park and continue from noon to 10 p.m. June 1 and 2. Information: 410-285-6663.

Other festivals and dates are:

June 7-9: St. Nicholas Greek Folk Festival, at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 520 S. Ponca St. Hours: 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily. Free. 410-633-5020.

June 21-23: African-American Heritage Festival, Oriole Park at Camden Yards. Free. 410-318-8286.
