127th Preakness

The 127th running of the Preakness Stakes is May 18. A number of events are planned to lead up to race day. Here are this weekend's events:

Saturday

Hot-air-balloon launches from Druid Hill Park (Exit 7-B off the JFX). 6 a.m.

Cosamin Preakness 5K/10K run at Rash Field. 8 a.m.

The 29th Cingular Wireless/Nokia Preakness Parade, with Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis as honorary grand marshal. The parade moves along Pratt Street past the Inner Harbor. 11 a.m.

Hot-air balloon demonstrations every hour. 1 p.m.-5 p.m.

25th Hour plays R&B. 1 p.m.

Hot-air balloons launch from Rash Field. 6 p.m.

Syxxtrak plays '70s and '80s funk, 7:30 p.m.

BalloonGlow: Hot-air balloons launch and "glow" above Baltimore. 9 p.m.

Sunday

Tour Du Sol, The Great American Green Transportation Festival. Food, entertainment, plus car, scooters and bike demos. Rash Field. 10 a.m.--5 p.m.
