Severna Park church welcomes visitors for sheep celebration

Feed the sheep on Super Sheep Weekend at Our Shepherd Lutheran Church on May 18 and 19.

Sheep will arrive at the front lawn at 8 a.m. May 18. The public is invited to pet and feed the sheep at the church, 400 Benfield Road in Severna Park. Food for the sheep will be available, with proceeds benefiting Severna Park Assistance Network.

"Shepherds," who will tend the sheep at all times, invite visitors to share in a campfire with smores at 8:30 p.m. May 18.

A yard sale will be held in the church parking lot from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 18, and food will be available from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Some proceeds will benefit SPAN.

Associate Pastor Kathy Disbro will officiate at the 7:30 a.m. Sunday Shepherd's worship service. Regular worship services will be held at 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. The sheep will be returned to Horizon Organic Dairy Farm in Gambrills.

Anchor Baptist presents drama team performance

Anchor Baptist Church will be host to the Proclaimers, a drama team from Northland Baptist Bible College in Dunbar, Wis., at 6 p.m. June 2.

The team will perform a story centering on the lives of a Christian family that, through a crisis, learns that faith can bring peace.

Anchor Baptist Church is at 320 W. Pasadena Road, Millersville.

Mother-daughter dinner: Brooklyn United Methodist Church will hold a mother-daughter dinner tomorrow at the church, Fourth Street at Pontiac Avenue in Brooklyn. Men from the congregation will cook the dinner and serve it to the women. Joan Randall will speak. The event will include musical entertainment and gifts for mothers. Doors open at 4 p.m., and the dinner is at 5 p.m. The cost is $5. 410-355-8740.

Bake sale: Pasadena United Methodist Church, 61 Ritchie Highway, Pasadena, will hold a bake sale at 11:30 a.m. May 19 at the church. 410-647-3090.

Bells ringing: Under the direction of the Rev. Harry Gray, music minister for Community United Methodist Church, the Chancel Choir and Jubilate Bells will present musical selections during the church's Music Ministry on May 19. Also participating in the service will be the Praise Makers, made up of children in grades two through six, and the Wee Praise Choir, consisting of 4- and 5-year-olds.
