Wash. College, Salisbury win Div. III openers

Fellows scores 6 goals in Shoremen's 10-5 victory

Attackman Jon Fellows had six goals and two assists to lead host Washington College over Cabrini, 10-5, in the first round of the NCAA Division III tournament.

The Shoremen (13-3) took a 7-3 advantage into the half and held the Cavaliers (15-3) scoreless for 32:08 going into the fourth quarter.

Washington College advances to face Washington & Lee.

Salisbury 15, Hampden-Sydney 8: Scott Simmons and Andy Arnold combined for six goals as the visiting Sea Gulls (13-4) rolled past the Tigers (13-3) to advance to the second round of the Division III tournament.

The Sea Gulls outshot Hampden-Sydney 43-23 and had nine players score.

Mike Fassnacht and Phil Dick each scored twice for the Tigers.
