The University of Maryland's 2002-2003 men's basketball schedule likely will include a December rematch with Indiana, the team the Terrapins defeated to win their first NCAA title on April 1, a source close to the situation confirmed yesterday.

The Terps, who beat Indiana, 64-52, to win the NCAA tournament, are tentatively set to face the Hoosiers in the annual ACC/Big Ten Challenge on Dec. 3 or 4 in Chicago.

Although the full 2002-2003 schedule, including Atlantic Coast Conference games, will not be announced until the summer, the Terps will open their season by playing the first game at the new Comcast Center in College Park against Miami of Ohio on Nov. 24.

The Terps also will play host to Florida on Dec. 14 as part of a two-year home-and-home arrangement with the Gators. Other home dates include UMBC on Dec. 23; The Citadel on Nov. 27; Duquesne on Nov. 30, and an exhibition against the Harlem Globetrotters on Nov. 12.

Maryland also will participate again in the BB&T Classic on Dec. 8 and 9 at the MCI Center in Washington by opening against Notre Dame, which includes former Terps forward Danny Miller. George Washington and Texas also will compete in the BB&T.
