Washington College and Salisbury University could reprise their "War on the Shore" in the third round of the NCAA Division III men's lacrosse tournament.

Both schools made the 16-team field yesterday. Washington (12-3) is coming off a 14-10 win at archrival Salisbury (12-4) on Saturday.

The Sea Gulls open Wednesday against host Hampden-Sydney (13-2) and then would play Saturday or Sunday against the winner of Stevens Tech (10-4) at Gettysburg (14-1).

The Shoremen begin Wednesday with visiting Cabrini (15-2), then would face the winner of Widener (12-3) at Washington & Lee (12-3) on Saturday or Sunday.

Washington, which missed the tournament last year, received one of the two at-large bids. Cabrini earned an automatic bid by winning the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference. The Cavaliers started the season 0-2, but have 15 consecutive victories.

Salisbury, the national champion in 1994, 1995 and 1999, is making its 14th straight tournament appearance, the longest active streak among Division III teams.

Wednesday's game will be the Sea Gulls' first NCAA tournament road game since 1991, not including four national title games played in College Park.
