Richard Wayne Hailey, 47, mortgage bank worker

Richard Wayne Hailey, a mortgage bank employee and former Linthicum Heights resident, died Tuesday of a lung infection at his home in San Diego. He was 47.

Mr. Hailey had worked for nearly 30 years in technical sup- port at Old Kent Mortgage Bank in San Diego until retiring on a medical disability last year.

Mr. Hailey was born in San Antonio, Texas, the son of an Air Force officer, and moved to Linthicum Heights in 1968. After graduating from Andover High School in 1971, he attended Anne Arundel Community College. He also studied at San Diego City College.

While living in Maryland, he appeared in amateur theatricals and was a member of the National Thespian Society.

He also had been the founder and owner of Tempco, a computer consulting firm.

Mr. Hailey enjoyed gourmet cooking and entertaining family and friends.

Plans for memorial services were incomplete yesterday.

He is survived by his mother, Mildred Jones Hailey of Eureka, Calif.; a brother, William T. Hailey Jr. of Sacramento, Calif.; two sisters, Anthea Hailey Smith of Baltimore and Rebecca Joan Stamm of San Jose, Calif.; and two nieces.
