Richard K. Bremer, 77, postal worker, Navy

Richard K. Bremer, a retired postal worker and career Navy noncommissioned officer, died of cancer Thursday at the Stevensville home of his daughter. He was 77.

Mr. Bremer was born in Lyndon, Kan., and, after graduating from high school, enlisted in the Navy in 1943. During his 21-year career, he had served in California, Guam, Key West, Fla., and Norfolk, Va. He was discharged in 1964 with the rank of senior chief petty officer.

A resident of Severna Park since 1960, he was a postal clerk at the Severna Park post office from 1966 to 1986 and later worked part time for several years as a salesman at Ace Hardware in Pasadena.

In 1950, Mr. Bremer married Dorothy K. Weise, who died in 1987.

He was a member of the American Legion's Severna Park post and enjoyed vegetable gardening, sports and reading.

Services were Monday.

Mr. Bremer is survived by a daughter, Mary Acosta of Stevensville; a brother, Leo Bremer of Lyndon; and two grandchildren.
