Glen Burnie Town Center board to meet May 8

The Glen Burnie Town Center Committee will meet May 8 at Anne Arundel Community College's Town Center location, Room 214 of the Arundel Center North, 101 Crain Highway.

The meeting begins at 8:30 a.m. The public is invited to attend.

Fouse Center bull roast and auction set for Friday

The Fouse Center, a transitional housing program for homeless men, will sponsor a bull roast from 6:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. Friday at Michael's Eighth Avenue in Glen Burnie.

The evening's activities will include a full buffet dinner, dancing and a silent auction. Auction items include a football autographed by Lenny Moore of the Baltimore Colts.

Book sale: The Anne Arundel County Historical and Genealogical societies will sponsor a book sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Glen Burnie Improvement Association, 9 Crain Highway South, Glen Burnie. Proceeds will benefit the Historical and Genealogical Research Center at Kuethe Library. 410- 760-9679.

Evening of Dance: A preview performance of Glen Burnie High School's "An Evening of Dance" is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday at Marley Station mall. The program will be presented at 7 p.m. Saturday at the school. The show marks the 30th year of direction by dance instructor Dianne Russo. Several alumni from the high school dance program will be featured, in addition to 250 students. Tickets are $5. 410-761-8950.

Women's meeting: Glen Burnie AGLOW will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Glen Burnie Improvement Association, 19 Crain Highway. Light refreshments will be served. This month's speaker is Mary Reynolds, who serves in Dundalk AGLOW as a song leader and guitarist. 410-355-3619.

War of 1812: The Anne Arundel County Historical Society and the Anne Arundel County Genealogical Society will sponsor a seminar on the War of 1812, "Yes! The Star-Spangled Banner Yet Waves," from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. June 1 at the Glen Burnie Improvement Association. The cost is $20. Proceeds will benefit the Historical and Genealogical Research Center at Kuethe Library.
