Panel to take final vote on Taylor Center plans

Redevelopment advisers to submit report to Owens

April 25, 2002|BY A SUN STAFF WRITER

The David Taylor Redevelopment Advisory Committee will meet tonight to take a final vote on a redevelopment plan and developers agreement for the former David Taylor Research Center on the Severn River near Annapolis.

The committee, which has been meeting for months to review the documents, will also submit a report to Anne Arundel County Executive Janet S. Owens, Chairman Bertrand A. Mason said yesterday.

The report, which will be presented in draft form at the meeting tonight, is expected to state how accurately the redevelopment plan and developers agreement reflect a 1997 reuse plan created by a separate resident committee.

The redevelopment plan and developers agreement are expected to be presented to the County Council next month.

Negotiations to transfer the 46-acre site from the Navy to developers Annapolis Partners LLC also are wrapping up.

The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at the county's Heritage Office Complex at 2660-2666 Riva Road.
